Activities Update

It has been a long time since my last post. We have been very busy lately. While keeping up with the news with varying degrees of humor and distaste, we have moved forward with several positive initiatives.

Karen and I are working on a new book, tentatively titled "Returning Warriors: Applying Complementary Treatment Therapies to War PTSD." Among other things, the book surveys the increasingly damaging results of warfare, especially current irregular combat. We also examine War PTSD as a special phenomenon, why it is difficult to treat effectively with traditional therapies, and how compelmentary shamanic modalities can help overcome the shortcomings.

Two of 6 chapters have been fundamentally completed. One is nearing completion. The final three will probably take less time over all.

Concurrently, we have established a new organization - Ravens Grove Foundation for Healing - to contain the Returning Warriors program and publication, as well as to expand the program to include other projects and train practitioners in utilizing our approach. The Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation, and we are completing the application for 501(c)(3) non-profit designation by the IRS. When approved, donations and contributions to the Foundation will be deductible as charitable contributions.

This is all very exciting and, according everyone we have discussed the project with, very needed. We invite you to keep up with our progress and to participate when possible. Here is the Foundation Web site:
